Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026 · Operated by KwikCall AI LLC
OTP Route provides OTP routing infrastructure, temporary verification numbers and dedicated virtual numbers for engineering, QA and operations teams. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do with the Service. It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to every account, API key, number and message on the platform.
1. Permitted uses
The Service is designed for legitimate business and technical purposes, including:
- QA and testing — exercising SMS verification and two-factor flows in manual and automated test plans for products you own or are authorised to test;
- CI pipelines — running end-to-end sign-up and login tests on every build without shared physical phones;
- Privacy-preserving sign-ups — registering for services without exposing a personal phone number, where the service's terms allow it;
- Verification flows — validating that your onboarding, account recovery and transaction confirmation steps work across countries and carriers;
- Operational lines — using dedicated numbers for support, vendor communication, alerts and team-owned accounts.
See our solutions for examples of how teams use the platform responsibly.
2. Prohibited uses
You must not use the Service, directly or indirectly, to:
- commit, facilitate or attempt fraud, including identity theft, account takeover, payment fraud, phishing, social engineering or impersonation of any person or organisation;
- evade a ban, suspension, block, rate limit or other enforcement action imposed by any platform, or create accounts on a platform that has excluded you;
- create fake engagement, including bulk or automated account creation for fake followers, likes, reviews, votes, referrals, sign-up bonuses, promotions or giveaways;
- violate the terms of service, policies or technical controls of any third-party platform;
- send spam, unsolicited bulk messages or calls, or messages without the consent required by law;
- harass, threaten, stalk, defame or intimidate anyone;
- distribute malware, or links to malicious or deceptive content;
- launder money, evade sanctions, or facilitate the sale of illegal goods or services;
- access accounts, systems or data that you are not authorised to access;
- engage in any activity that is unlawful in your jurisdiction, the jurisdiction of the number, or the jurisdiction of the recipient.
3. Third-party platforms
Many online services set their own rules on phone verification, the number of accounts per person and automated access. You are solely responsible for complying with the terms of every platform for which you request an activation or receive messages. A service being listed in our API does not mean that the service permits your intended use. If you are not sure whether a use is allowed, check the platform's terms first or do not proceed.
Temporary numbers are short-lived and may be reassigned. Do not use them for accounts that you will need to recover by SMS later; use a dedicated number instead.
4. Messaging and calling rules
When you send SMS or place calls from a dedicated number, you must:
- obtain any consent required by law before messaging or calling a recipient, and honour opt-out requests promptly;
- identify yourself or your organisation where the law or carrier rules require it;
- comply with carrier content rules and with laws on telemarketing, consumer protection and privacy in the relevant countries;
- not spoof caller identity or misrepresent the origin of a message;
- not send content that is unlawful, deceptive, sexually explicit, hateful or that promotes violence.
Carriers may block messages or numbers that generate complaints. We may restrict outbound messaging or calling on any number that does so.
5. Security and integrity
You must not:
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, except through responsible disclosure to [email protected];
- circumvent rate limits, account quotas, authentication, two-factor authentication, bot protection, billing or other controls, including by creating multiple accounts;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure or other customers;
- use webhook endpoints to target systems you do not control or to reach internal or private network addresses;
- scrape the website or dashboard in a way that places unreasonable load on the Service. Use the API instead.
6. Resale and sharing
You may integrate the Service into your own products and workflows. If you provide access to numbers or codes to your own customers, you are responsible for their use as if it were your own, and you must ensure they comply with this AUP. You may not resell access to the Service as a means of helping others circumvent this policy or anonymise prohibited activity.
7. Monitoring and controls
To protect the platform, our customers and the wider ecosystem, we apply automated and manual controls, including bot protection on sign-in and sign-up forms, velocity limits on sign-ups, checkouts and orders, rate limits on the API and review of unusual activity. We may review account activity, metadata and, where necessary to investigate a suspected breach, message content within our retention period. We may also cooperate with carriers, payment processors, platforms and law enforcement where required by law or to prevent harm.
8. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe that you have breached this AUP, we may, with or without notice and depending on severity:
- issue a warning and ask you to change your use;
- limit or block specific services, countries, numbers, keys or features;
- lock the account, suspend API access or release dedicated numbers;
- terminate the account and withhold remaining wallet credit to the extent permitted by law;
- report activity to relevant authorities, carriers or affected platforms.
Locked accounts receive 423 account_locked responses from the API. If you believe enforcement was applied in error, contact us with your account email and an explanation; we will review it in good faith.
9. Reporting abuse
If you believe a number from OTP Route has been used for fraud, harassment, spam or another prohibited purpose, email [email protected] with the phone number, the date and time, and a description of what happened. Screenshots or message content help us act quickly. We review every report.
10. Changes
We may update this AUP as the Service, the law and abuse patterns evolve. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
